[2021/Review] Pore – Rest BY Jumiso – Stylekorean’s Try Me Review Me

Happy September! Today, I’m back with a brief review on Jumiso’s Pore Rest Kit – products that I have been using for roughly 3 weeks. This is a fragrance – free kit that is made fore sensitive, blackheads and clogged pores skin.

4 Products included in this kit

BHA Blackhead Clearing Facial Cleanser (150ml)

Fat-soluble exfoliator with pore tightening effect – vegan formula. This is a daily facial cleanser, formulated with BHA, and it’s suitable for sensitive to normal dry skin.

Notable ingredients:

  • BHA – beta hydroxy acids: effective and more gentle than AHA in improving skin texture by minimizing the appearance of blackhead and dead skin cells.
  • Myristic acid: a fatty acid that has the ability to wash away oil, while maintaining skin’s hydration
  • Melia azadirachta leaf extract: Antibacterial

Texture and Scent:

It has a creamy texture with a slight pastel green color. Once in contact with lukewarm water, the dense lather will turn into a fluffy foam. Personally, I think its scent is very similar to the scent of pandan’s leaves – so quite comfortable to me.

foamy texture

Brief thoughts:

Some foam cleansers tend to dry out my skin, but this one has not! I use this twice a day. Even though the consistency is quite foamy, this cleanser does not dry out my skin. I have oily skin, so after a rinse, my skin feels clean and also hydrated at the same time.

Not so sure about blackhead clearing effect, but I notice that the amount of oil secreted throughout the day has lessened a bit after using this consistently for 3 weeks, so I guess this does help to unclog pores due to oil and dust from the environment.

Overall, this cleanser doesn’t irritate my skin, and the scent does not bother me at all. My skin tends to dry throughout the winter, so I will definitely need to test this out more.

LHA Sebum Control (50g)

Sebum control cream that contains LHA, helps remove sebum and improves on pores to create smooth and healthy skin.

Notable Ingredients:

  • Panthenol: anti-inflammatory
  • Evening Primrose: anti-inflammatory, enhance elasticity
  • LHA or capryloyl salicylic acid: improves skin clarity through gentle exfoliating property.

Texture and scent:

creamy, velvety texture

As you can tell from the picture, the Sebum Control has a white, thick cream with no noticeable fragrant.

My tip: use a small amount if you want to use the cream as a primer

Brief thoughts:

I notice that if you use a small amount of the cream, let’s say pea-sized, it blends nicely. Once it’s on my skin, it leaves out a velvety finish. I have oily skin, and so far, this works great for me. Skin texture has improved a lot as pores are less defined! Furthermore, I also use this as a primer before applying my matte foundation, and this created a very smooth canvas on my skin. So far, I’m impressed.

Pore – Rest AHA, BHA, PHA Blackhead Wipe Toner Pad

Notable Ingredients:

  • Glycerin: helps to retain moisture and softens the skin
  • Butylene glycol: also retain moisture, decreasing roughness of the skin
  • Althaea Rosea Flower Extract: anti inflammatory
  • Evening Primrose: anti-inflammatory, enhance elasticity
  • Sugarcane Extract: contains lactic acids as well as glycolic acids – overall, these two ingredients help to moisturize and exfoliates dead skin cells – enhancing the growth of new cells.
  • AHA/BHA/PHA: in general, these are used for exfoliation and also anti-inflammatory. But each of these has different molecular sizes (with PHA the largest) so that when penetrating into our skin, our epidermis don’t get irritate easily

Texture and Scent:

Comes in a big tub with 70 pads, and each pad has a rough and smooth side. It has a typical, chemical scent, but this does not bother me at all.

Brief thoughts:

I tent to use this twice a day, and 1-2 pads each time. These pads are soaked with the liquid in the tub, so I will just use the excess moisture in the pad to exfoliate or just simple clean the back of neck (trust me, it helps to reduce back-acne and redness). This toner pad does not dry out or irritate my skin, which makes sense because of the differences in molecular sizes of AHA, BHA and PHA! My skin texture has improved a lot after using the toner pad for 3 weeks.

Thing I love about this is the little plastic tweezer, very hygiene. And so far, this is one of my favorites in the Pore-Rest line! You guys definitely need to check this out!

Pore-Rest PHA9 Deep Purifying Facial Toner

250ml

Notable Ingredients:

  • 9% PHA – large molecular size that helps the chemical penetrates slower, less irritate the skin – gentle exfoliation
  • Gluconolactone: antioxidant, strengthen skin’s moisture, removes dead skin cell on the outer layer of the epidermis

Texture and Scent

Clear, watery consistency with no scent

Brief thoughts:

Honestly, I neither like or hate this toner. I’m pretty neutral with it. I have oily, sensitive to acne prone skin, and this toner does a great job in keeping my pore clean without over exfoliating my skin – thanks to 9% PHA. But the downside is that this toner is a bit sticky on my face… and I’m not into this feeling.

Overall, if you prefer a very gentle toner, and you have super dry skin, the deep purifying toner is for you! Other than that, I prefer the soaked toner pads in the same line.
