[2020 Review/OLENS] SCANDI 5 COLORED CONTACT LENSES

Today is a little bit different, not about skin care or makeup, but instead, I will be sharing with you my thoughts on the new SCANDI line from OLENS – a South Korean Colored Contact Lenses that has been growing during the past few years! Yesssssss, I was lucky enough to be chosen from Olens to make a full review on all 5 color contact lenses that are currently available from the SCANDI line.

In the past, I had tried out their famous Spanish line (can’t remember the color lol), and Olens contact lenses haven’t disappointing me! Back in the days, before I got to know about Olens, I found other brands like Solotica and TTDEYE, but I ended up choosing OLens because their prices are cheaper, and their worldwide shipping is fast! (check out the last part in this post for more details on shipping, etc.) As always, these reviews are my honest thoughts!

And, don’t forget to use my coupon to get some $$ off when shopping at Olens Global

The coupon is available at the end of this try on review!

A total of 5 colors: Hazel, Olive, Light Grey, Grey and Aqua

and if you are new to Olens or the whole Scandi line, Black Pink is actually the ambassador.

My eyes currently are 5 degrees 😦 BUT the lenses are really comfortable to wear and to take care!

About the prescription (power): they range from 0.00 to -8.00.

And surprisingly to know, the the Scandi line will last up to 5 years from the day of manufacturing!

Notable materials: Puscon and Hema.

Puscon:

  • bio material that was approved by FDA, so really safe to wear.
  • It’s capable of inserting into human bodies for artificial heart or blood vessel.
  • Olens uses Puscon to make 1 day contact lenses.
  • It has a hydrophilic molecular structure – as a biosci student, I just keep hearing my teachers saying… hydrophilic! It means “water-loving”. So because of this property, the material does help reducing the dryness of your eyes by forming a hydration shell on the surface of the contact lens, and minimizes the friction of the cornea by preventing dehydration.

Hema

  • is used to make the hydrophilic polymer. These lenses rely on the amount of water in the polymer to regulate how much oxygen can pass through the lens
  •  highly flexible, dimensionally stable to changes in pH and temperature

Let’s get started with the first color: HAZEL

Scandi Hazel is Jisoo’s pick. She wore this in Ice Cream MV!
My natural eye color vs Scandi Hazel
Naturally blended with my original eye colors – great for daily use!

Brief thoughts on the Scandi Hazel:

You can obviously see that I have really dark brown eyes, and the Hazel makes my eyes look rounder and shaper! Why shapers ? It because of a rounded outer ring. With a 11.9mm diameter and a base curve of 8.6, the lenses “sit” nicely on my pupils! A hint of light yellow, brownish really makes my eyes pop up, giving it a new vibe but still natural and dreamy looking. Eyes are one of the most sensitive areas on our face, so my recommendation is to wear it around 6~7 hours, and change your solution whenever you touch the contact lenses (or the case…)!

General Information for Scandi Hazel

Second color: OLIVE (GREEN)

Scandi Olive is actually Rosé’s pick. It’s an upgrade version of the Spanish line
Not that green to be honest – so it’s still great for daily use
so far, this is the most natural color that blends really well into my pupils!

Brief thoughts on the Scandi Olive:

I didn’t expect to see how naturally these are on my eyes! I thought Olive color might give out super…. chic looking vibe and hard to wear, but these don’t change color dramatically. It gives you a very subtle change – which is hard to tell from far apart. So if you’re a newbie, and you are seeking for a safe choice, this might be the option you want to consider!

Third color: AQUA BLUE

Jisoo and…
… Lisa wore this in Ice Cream MV
Aqua Blue brings out chic and stylish vibe!
and you can definitely tell that AQUA BLUE does not go well with natural makeup look.

Brief thoughts on the Scandi Aqua Blue:

No need to say much, you guys can definitely see a big difference here! Pretty eye-catching right? For the purpose of a general review, I don’t want to make my eyes look too heavy. That’s why I decided just to do a neutral light brown, pinkish, orangy eyes makeup look. So a darker or even cool tones, dramatic eyes makeup look would go really well with this bright blue color! Can you notice a hint of yellow ring ? That yellowish creates a border that separates my dark brown pupils and the bright blue outer rings! Everything, specifically the mix of colors here just blend really well!

Fourth color: LIGHT GRAY

BLACKPINK x Selena Gomez Ice Cream D2 Poster: Lisa looks RED HOT flaunting colourful freckles and space buns | PINKVILLA
Lisa used this color in Ice Cream MV – it’s a newwww color in the Scandi line
At the moment, the Light Gray is only available under monthly use
Scandi Light Gray is actually similar to the Russian Silver

Brief thoughts on the Light Gray:

So besides the Aqua Blue, this will be ranked at the second place – as the second eye-catching colored contact in the whole line! But I don’t think it would be easy to be noticed from a far. My complexion seems to brighten a bit when wearing this color. The light gray has more of a light blue color on the outer rim, but yellowish to brownish towards my pupils! So before make a purchase, you can have a look over my pictures when I have the Scandi Gray on – just to see which one you prefer.

Fifth color in the whole line: GRAY

Scandi Gray is actually Jennie and Lisa’s pick. Chic but still natural!
besides Hazel and Olive, Gray would be my pick for daily use because it doesn’t dramatically emphasize my eyes!

Brief thoughts on the Scandi Gray:

Compared to the Light Gray, this one is actually really subtle. The outer rims have some green colors on it, but definitely not as green as the Scandi Olive. It doesn’t exaggerate my eyes or anything, and the light green and yellow go well with my dark brown eye colors. The Olive does give me a dreamy, laid back vibe, but this Gray color seems to touch up, and define my eyes a little bit.
